Delete config.cfg. 2. Right click the Left 4 Dead 2 shortcut in your steam library and click properties. Click the Updates tab and uncheck "Enable Steam Cloud Synchronization for Left 4 Dead 2". Click close. 3. Try running the game again. That'll re-create the config.cfg file and restore the default settings. If its successful, Re-enable Steam

The console can be opened in Left 4 Dead 2 by opening thedeveloper console. To open the Developer Console, you will first need to enable it in the gameās settings. To do this, open the gameās main menu and go to Options > Keyboard/Mouse. Look for the āEnable Developer Consoleā option and set it to āYesā.
to help boost this thread for those who need help. If your playing l4d2 through steam, then you only need to configure your controller through big picture mode, ensure its forced on and thats it. Btw you need to exit the game before configuring. This work for both PS4 and 360 controllers.
